HHREF Inaugural Award – Call for Nominations
The first award of the Himalayan Health Research and Education Foundation (HHREF) is launched. You are invited to either nominate yourself or nominate someone who truly deserves recognition for their meaningful contributions to public health, education, or the environment in rural Nepal.
About the Inaugural HHREF Award

The Himalayan Health Research and Education Foundation (HHREF) is pleased to announce its inaugural award. This award celebrates individuals and institutions whose work strengthens health, learning, and environmental stewardship in rural Nepal.

Award Value

The award carries a monetary value of 100,000 NPR, which will be granted to one individual or one institution that has demonstrated outstanding contributions in the area of public health, education, or environment in rural Nepal.

Who Can Be Nominated?

Nominations are welcome for:

  • Individuals working in or for rural communities in Nepal
  • Educational, health, or environmental institutions and organisations.
  • Grassroots and community-based initiatives serving rural populations.

Both self-nominations and nominations by others are encouraged.

Key Dates

Submission Deadline: 28 January 2026

Award Ceremony: Nepali New Year 2082 (14 April 2026)
